The Deer (Original) 9"x12" Wilderness Pencil Sketch
This is an original sketch of a deer made by using graphite on watercolor paper. It's dimensions are 9" by 12" and it fits in an 11" by 14" frame with matting.
It was created in 2019 using a royalty free reference image and a Sakura Sumo Grip mechanical pencil with 0.7mm HB lead.
The paper is Canson Mixed Media heavyweight paper.
I created this piece because I love the outdoors and I'm passionate about wildlife conservation. I wanted to portray a more humanistic side of the animals that live in our national parks and recreation areas to bring awareness to the catastrophes of climate change and human interference.
I create art because it brings me joy and has saved my life and my stability a number of times, I need to be creative to survive and I hope that my art resonates with you and if nothing else makes you feel a little bit of happiness.
